CJCD: It seems the issue of trailers has reared its ugly head once again, except this time it doesn’t involve Yellowknife. The NWT Housing Corporation is planning on purchasing 1,400 trailers from a Calgary-based company to house pipeline workers. Range Lake MLA is calling into question what happens to the trailers once the pipeline is completed.
LEE: The Minister said today that he’s going to move 100 at a time. That’s 14 years. What are those trailers going to do in the bushes over 14 years? Who’s going to protect them? Who’s going to want to live in a trailer that’s been sitting in the cold for 14 years? I need a better plan.
CJCD: Lee says northern companies should have at least an opportunity to bid on the contract to supply the housing.
