Harry Deneron Re-joins APG
May 18, 2005 --

The Aboriginal Pipeline Group (APG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Harry Deneron as Special Advisor to the APG, effective immediately.

“Mr. Deneron brings a wealth of business and industry experience that will serve Northerners well,” said APG President Bob Reid.

“He is a very-well respected leader with considerable influence in the Deh Cho region.  Harry’s vision and foresight directly resulted in the formation of APG.  I don’t know of a more credible person to talk about the APG business deal and the significant benefits it will bring to Aboriginal Communities”.

Born and raised in the Northwest Territories, Harry Deneron was a long-serving Chief of the Acho Dene Koe First Nation in Fort Liard.  He is regarded by many to be a man of vision and unparalleled business saavy.  In the 1990’s, he set up the Acho Dene Koe Corporate Group.  As President of the ADK Corporate Group, he negotiated ground-breaking agreements with oil and gas companies interested in exploring his region for new deposits.  The ADK provided a variety of camp, site preparation and operational services.  Joint venture agreements with helicopter companies, and drilling operators brought further success.  Deneron continued to secure his community’s economic future by partnering the ADK with companies building a gathering system for several pipelines.  During his tenure, annual revenues soared from less than $5-million to almost $40-million in 2000, paying out over $10-million in wages.

In 2001, Harry Deneron was bestowed the title of “Honorary Chief for Life” by the Acho Dene Koe Band Council.  The following year, he received a National Aboriginal Achievement Award for his contributions to the aboriginal business community.  Currently, he devotes much of his time to the traditional pursuits of hunting and trapping.

“Harry Deneron is a great example of a leader who holds the best interests of the First Nation first, last and always,” said APG Chair Fred Carmichael.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Harry to the APG team.”
